Offered is 1 roll of Kennedy Half Dollars, providing an opportunity to search through a group of classic U.S. half dollars for different dates, mint marks, and potentially silver-containing examples. Please review the photos for the exact coins and packaging included. The Kennedy Half Dollar was first introduced in 1964, shortly after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The obverse features Kennedy's portrait, designed by Chief Engraver Gilroy Roberts, while the reverse was designed by Frank Gasparro and is based on the Presidential Seal. Kennedy Half Dollars are particularly popular with collectors because of their silver history. 1964 issues contain 90% silver, while Kennedy Half Dollars dated 1965–1970 contain 40% silver. Beginning in 1971, regular-issue Kennedy Half Dollars transitioned to copper-nickel clad composition, although special collector issues have been produced in silver in later years.
