1982-S Washington Commemorative Half Dollar in Proof (PR) condition, struck at the San Francisco Mint. This historic modern commemorative honors George Washington and was issued for the 250th anniversary of his birth. The 1982 Washington Half Dollar marked the revival of the U.S. commemorative coin program after a lengthy hiatus. The obverse features a portrait of George Washington, while the reverse depicts the Washington family coat of arms. The 1982-S Proof half dollar was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. The “S” mint mark identifies it as a San Francisco Mint Proof issue.
