Doulton Lambeth glazed stoneware jug of substantial rounded form, decorated in contrasting rich brown and buff glazes with applied relief figures and architectural motifs, the mouth fitted with a shaped English sterling silver rim. The silver mount bears Birmingham assay hallmarks comprising the anchor, lion passant for sterling silver, and lowercase date letter “d” for 1903, together with an “H P” maker or sponsor’s mark. The combination of traditional salt-glazed stoneware, molded relief decoration, and hallmarked silver mount is characteristic of the decorative wares produced at the Lambeth works around the turn of the 20th century. Surface wear, minor glaze and firing irregularities, and expected age-related wear to the silver mount are present, consistent with antique use. Measures 7.75"H x 7"W x 5.5"D
