Large and visually varied collection of antique and vintage carved furniture and architectural components, including four substantial dark-stained turned wood finials with boldly carved artichoke or pineapple-form crowns, beaded collars, and bulbous shafts; a pair of pale unfinished carved wood elements enriched with deeply worked floral and foliate decoration; two dark carved block-form feet or supports with scrolling leaf motifs; several turned and carved knobs and finials in gilt, black-painted, green-painted, and natural finishes; and a pair of large circular giltwood or composition-mounted architectural bases with raised scrolling leaf ornament. The assortment displays a broad range of traditional cabinetmaking and decorative vocabulary and appears to have been gathered as restoration stock or architectural salvage from multiple pieces of furniture or interiors. Comparable carved finials and related furniture fragments are regularly offered individually or in small groups at decorative-arts and architectural-salvage auctions, with pairs of substantial carved wood finials having particularly good decorative appeal. Condition is mixed and consistent with age and prior use, including scattered chips and losses, abrasions, cracks and checking, missing or shortened mounting pegs, worn and flaking gilding and painted surfaces, old repairs, discoloration, surface grime, and isolated breaks; several elements are clearly detached fragments intended for reuse or restoration. An especially useful decorator’s and restorer’s collection with strong sculptural presence and an appealing range of old surfaces and patinas. 20 separate pieces that measure 3.75"H x 3"W to 11.5"H x 3"W .
