striking American Art Deco molded-glass vase attributed to the Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company’s celebrated Martele line, formed in frosted colorless glass with a softly opalescent appearance. The gently waisted body is decorated in bold relief with a chickadee perched amid tall reeds and overlapping foliage, the sculptural design creating an elegant play of light and shadow across the satin surface. Consolidated’s Martele wares were introduced during the late 1920s and are recognized for raised floral, bird, and figural motifs inspired by hand-worked decorative glass. The vase displays light surface wear, scattered scratches, minor manufacturing irregularities and roughness or small fleabites along the rim and base edges consistent with age; no major cracks are apparent from the photographs. Measures 6"H x 2.5"W x 4"D.
