A charming pair of late 19th- to early 20th-century milk glass biscuit jars, each of rounded form and fitted with an ornate silverplate collar, removable lid, and hinged swing handle. One jar features a softly tinted pale green and white body molded with raised scrolling decoration and hand-painted sprays of purple, yellow, and pink flowers, while the companion displays delicate hand-painted pink roses and buds against an opaque white ground. The silverplate fittings are embellished with beaded borders, ornamental terminals, and decorative ring-form finials, lending both jars an elegant Victorian table presence. Condition is consistent with age and use, including tarnish, oxidation, spotting, scratches, and finish wear to the silverplate; the glass bodies show scattered surface marks, minor discoloration, small manufacturing irregularities, and light wear to the painted decoration, with no major breakage visible in the photographs. Similar Victorian floral glass biscuit jars with silverplate fittings continue to appear at auction across a broad range depending upon decoration, maker, and condition. Measure 8"H x 5"W and 8"H x 5.25"W.
