Pair of Japanese Imari porcelain vases of rounded baluster form with short flared necks, richly hand decorated in the traditional palette of cobalt blue, iron red, green enamels, and gilt. The bodies are divided into alternating brocade-style panels featuring chrysanthemums, scrolling foliage, stylized waves, and geometric ornament, with one vase displaying a shaped reserve centered by a dynamic dragon amid clouds and waves. Raised enamel accents and extensive gilding lend the pair a particularly opulent decorative presence. The underside bears a red square seal mark confirming Japanese manufacture, though the individual characters are not sufficiently clear for a confident workshop attribution; an additional painted inventory number “98” appears on the base. Likely dating to the late Meiji or Taisho period, circa 1900–1925. Presented without covers and showing age-appropriate wear, including rubbing and losses to the gilding, scattered enamel and glaze wear, residue and discoloration around the rims and bases, surface soiling, and minor firing imperfections.
