A large Rococo Revival wall mirror featuring an ornate hand-carved wood frame with a gilt finish. The frame is decorated with a profusion of deeply carved floral motifs including roses and morning glories, integrated with acanthus leaves and C-scroll elements. The design is characterized by an asymmetrical, three-dimensional crest and stylized, out-scrolled feet. The reverse of the frame reveals hand-carved construction. The mirror glass is held in place by modern metal staples and a later-added corrugated cardboard backing. Dimensions (measured against a tape measure): Height approx. 40.25 inches x Width approx. 27 inches. Condition: The gilt surface shows age-appropriate wear including scattered chips, areas of loss to the carving, and fine craquelure throughout. The mirror plate appears clear and free of significant silvering loss or foxing. The mirror glass and cardboard backing have been re-secured at a later date with modern staples.
