Original Adlake railroad lantern featuring a desirable clear glass globe with raised "SOUTHERN Ry." lettering. The lantern retains its Adlake-marked components, including the embossed top, wire guards, handle, burner assembly, and fuel chamber. It presents in good overall condition with an attractive aged finish and wear appropriate for age. The raised-letter Southern Railway globe remains clear and displays exceptionally well, making this a strong addition to any railroadiana or lantern collection. Measures approximately 15 inches tall. Estate Note: This lantern comes from the estate of Mr. Percy Hill of Magnolia, Mississippi, one of the largest collectors of railroad lanterns, locks, and insulators in the Southeast. His family has graciously entrusted Southern Heirs Auction with offering this remarkable collection. Be on the lookout for hundreds of additional pieces from the Percy Hill Collection in future sales. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding.
