AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > An antique wood footstool standing 10" tall with a 10" × 14" rectangular upholstered top. The dark brown needlepoint covering features a centered floral bouquet worked in shades of pink, cream, gold, lavender and muted green. The reddish-brown stained wood frame is formed with rectangular apron rails and four turned legs. Each leg features rounded collars beneath the apron, a tapered central shaft, ring-turned detailing and a rounded foot. The compact proportions and traditional turned-leg form are characteristic of small parlor footstools produced from the late 19th through early 20th century, paired with formal chairs. CONDITON REPORT > A sturdy structure ~ Elements noted relative to minor fraying and small losses along portions of the needlepoint edges. A small area of perhaps white paint is noted at one edge of the needlepoint cover, shown in the images offered ~ Despite what might be anticipated due to age, use and materials, an attractive example.
