NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Two cylindrical storage canisters, each measuring approximately 10" tall × 10" in diameter, filled with an assorted collection of vintage Lincoln Logs building pieces. The canisters are constructed from heavy coated cardstock with rolled metal rims around the top and bottom, similar in construction to commercial ice cream containers. The contents include numerous reddish-brown wooden logs in assorted lengths, each formed with the characteristic end notches that allow the pieces to interlock at right angles. Also included are flat green, brown and natural-finished wooden roof slats and structural pieces, shorter wall sections, small connector blocks and a large red molded roof or gable component. Several pieces show differing colors, profiles and generations of manufacture, suggesting the contents may combine components from more than one set. No inventory has been made, and completeness for any particular building design cannot be determined. Lincoln Logs were introduced during the 1910s as an American construction toy designed around interlocking notched wooden pieces used to build cabins, forts and related structures. Traditional sets commonly included logs in several lengths along with colored roof slats, supports, gables, chimneys and other architectural accessories. Seemingly rather well preserved ~ Perhaps typical and minor elements relative to age, play and materials.
