AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > A scarce vintage 1990 childrens sizeTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles child’s T shirt with vividly preserved screen printed COMING TO YOUR TOWN graphics, a period TMNT character tag marked size Medium, and highly desirable single stitch construction at both sleeve ends and the lower hem. Despite the Medium designation, the proportions are intended for a very young child rather than an adult or older youth. The reverse of the neck tag states 50% COTTON ~ 50% POLYESTER ~ MADE IN U.S.A. ~ RN 65040. The lower edge of the front graphic is printed © MIRAGE STUDIOS 1990. The colorful composition depicts Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo descending on a city scene beneath the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo and the slogan COMING TO YOUR TOWN. Single stitch refers to the single visible row of stitching securing the sleeve and lower hems, a construction method commonly found on American T shirts of the 1970s through early 1990s. The detail has become important to vintage clothing collectors as supporting evidence of period construction, although single stitching alone does not authenticate or precisely date a garment. Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and published the first comic through Mirage Studios in 1984. The original independent comic quickly developed into the animated television series, toys, licensed apparel, and the enormously successful 1990 live action film, placing this shirt at the height of the original Turtlemania phenomenon.
