AVAILABLE for SHIPPING or LOCAL PICKUP > Offered as a vintage Boy Scouts of America and Cub Scout grouping featuring eight illustrated handbooks and activity guides together with an olive green merit badge sash displaying 21 embroidered badges and three metal Scout rank pins. The book collection includes Lion-Webelos Cub Scout Book, Wolf Cub Scout Book, Bear Cub Scout Book, Webelos Scout Book, Den Leader’s Book, The Den Mother’s Den-Book, Games for Cub Scouts from the Pow Wow Series and an additional Wolf Cub Scout Book of a different edition. Colorful period covers depict rank animals, Cub Scout activities, den leadership and the familiar advancement imagery associated with mid-century Scouting. Games for Cub Scouts was copyrighted in 1963 and contains organized games and recreational activities prepared for Cub Scout meetings, outings and pack programs. The Den Mother’s Den-Book reflects an earlier period when adult women coordinating individual dens were formally identified as Den Mothers, a BSA leadership position established during the 1930s and supported through dedicated manuals beginning in 1937. The long olive green sash carries 21 circular embroidered merit badges representing swimming and water activities, canoeing, archery, basketry, fishing, cooking, forestry, firemanship, Indian lore, navigation and other outdoor, civic and practical skills. Three metal Scout insignia pins are mounted above the badges, including fleur-de-lis and star forms with traditional eagle, shield and BE PREPARED imagery. Together, the books, badges and pins document the advancement, leadership and activity programs that shaped American Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting during the mid-20th century. The varied cover graphics and substantial decorated sash offer strong display appeal for collectors of Scouting history, youth organization memorabilia, merit badges and vintage instructional books. CONDITION REPORT > Expect varying cover wear, edge wear, toning, markings and other elements relative to age, handling and use. The sash, 21 embroidered badges and three metal pins are included exactly as shown. Individual publication dates have not been confirmed from the copyright pages.
