NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > Offered along with a thick fitted underpad, this vintage Karastan Ivory Kirman power loomed area rug is from the Original 700 Series, measuring approximately 8'8" x 12'. Woven in the United States with an all wool face of worsted yarn, the rug displays an elaborate A Persian inspired Kirman design featuring a warm ivory field, scrolling floral sprays and a richly detailed border in rose, salmon, blue, teal, green and muted earth tones. Finished with knotted fringe at each end. The original Karastan manufacturer and care labels remain attached beneath the rug, identifying pattern 788 and American manufacture. Karastan was established in 1928 and became known for using modified Axminster power looms to create intricately patterned wool rugs with the visual character of traditional handwoven Oriental carpets. The company introduced the celebrated 700 Series during the 1930s, and Kirman patterns became among the best-known Karastan designs produced for formal and traditional interiors
