NO SHIPPING ~ LOCAL PICKUP ONLY > The second of three, this vintage Mid-Century wrought iron patio or garden chaise lounge measuring 74" long, 28.5" wide and 16" tall to the lounging surface. The substantial all iron construction features an elongated expanded metal mesh bed, adjustable reclining back and rubber clad rolling wheels for easier repositioning. Decorative openwork panels along both sides incorporate scrolling vines and applied ivy leaves, repeated across the crest of the reclining back. The weathered blue green finish conveys the verdigris character traditionally associated with ornamental iron garden furniture, while curled front feet and open scrollwork add a refined decorative presence. Designed for use with or without a fitted cushion (not included), the chaise combines a generous lounging surface with multiple back positions for upright seating, reclining or sunbathing by a pool or on a deck. The sculptural ironwork complements Traditional Garden, English Country, Grandmillennial and vintage tropical settings. Wheeled wrought iron chaises with adjustable backs and coordinating ivy scrollwork were promoted for American terraces and gardens by the mid 1940s. Period reporting specifically described long, low iron wheel chaises designed to coordinate with ivy vine patio collections finished in mottled Pompeian green. No manufacturer’s mark has been identified on this example, so no direct attribution to Woodard, Salterini or Pompeian Studios is made. CONDITION REPORT > Expect typical elements relative to age, use, materials and outdoor exposure over the years ~ Overall, a notably well preserved example.
