R Serial # A79224. .303 British caliber bolt action rifle with a 25” barrel. The bore is good, dark with good rifling with fouling/frosting in the grooves. Made by Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) in 1913. Detachable 10 round magazine. The number on the bolt has been buffed off. The nose cap is matched to the receiver, the magazine is mis-matched. The metal finish on the barrel and receiver is in fair condition; it is mostly a blotchy brown/gray patina with pitting and older cleaned rust. The black finish on the trigger guard, nose band and barrel bands shows light edge wear with scratches and underlying light pitting. The plain hardwood forearm, hand guards and butt stock have been cleaned/refinished and are in fair condition showing some remnant marks. The forearm has a repaired crack on the underside and is loose. The butt stock is canted to the right. Brass butt plate. The action works OK. C&R.
