R Serial # 71491. 8mm Nambu caliber semi auto pistol with a 4½” barrel. The bore is excellent, clean with strong rifling. Detachable magazine. Made at the Toriimatsu Branch of the Nagoya Arsenal in April of 1943. The pistol has First Series Markings. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in very good condition showing little wear with some scattered light scratches with some scattered light freckling. The blued finish on the receiver is in very good condition showing light edge wear with some light scratches and scratches from movement of the safety. The blued metal finish on the grip frame is in fair condition showing edge wear, thinning and scratches with light pitting on the front and rear grip straps. The grooved wood grips are in good condition showing light dings and scratches. They are matched to the receiver. The detachable magazine is also matched to the receiver. The action works fine. There were 49,999 pistols made in the First Series from Dec. 1941 until November 1943. Includes a correct hard shell holster. C&R.
