This grouping consists of eight cast zinc or pot metal charity pins from the German Winterhilfswerk (Winter Relief) campaigns. The assortment features stylized animal forms, including two arched-back cats with cross-shaped cutouts, three fawns, a small terrier-style dog, a bird, and a fish. Individual pin measurements range from 1 inch to 1 3/4 inches at the widest points. Six of the pins retain their inset colored plastic or glass eye accents in blue, green, and pink, while the two cats feature open cross eyes. The reverses are fitted with soldered horizontal pin fixtures. The metal surfaces display varying degrees of natural oxidation, age-related darkening, and a heavy white zinc pest crust on the fish and some of the fawns. B
