German M43 style field cap constructed from brownish gray wool with a cloth covered visor and ear and neck panels secured by two pebbled metal buttons. The panels are sewn in place and cannot be lowered. The front displays a woven German national eagle and swastika insignia on dark cloth backing. The interior retains its cloth lining and brown leather sweatband. Maker marked "Litto Kappe," identifying the Vienna, Austria manufacturer, and marked size 56. Shows age related wear with exterior rubbing, small stitched repairs, interior staining, and cracking to the leather sweatband. An intriguing Vienna made M43 style cap with strong historical display appeal from the Bagale Collection. SC
