West German Bundesmarine enlisted sailor’s cap constructed from dark navy wool with a black, red, and gold national cockade. The black cap tally features gold Gothic lettering reading "Kreuzer Admiral Hipper," referencing the German WWII heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper. The interior retains its navy lining, protective sweat shield, and tan sweatband. Markings include manufacturer Gebrüder Klotz, production year 1961, contract date September 27, 1960, NATO stock number 8405-12-124-5521, and size 57. The cap is postwar, and the Admiral Hipper tally may have been added later for display. Shows light age related wear with creasing and minor wear to the extended ribbon ends. Please review photographs for condition. An appealing early Bundesmarine cap combining Cold War naval history with a prominent Admiral Hipper display tally. SC
