This unique World War II-era photo album documents a young woman’s service within the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD). The 9" x 12" album is housed in a distinctive, hand-embroidered black felt cover featuring a folk-art scene of a woman hanging laundry under a personified sun. Across 23 pages, the collection contains 114 original silver-gelatin photographs spanning April 1942 to March 1943. The narrative is meticulously chronicled with artistic Fraktur-style headers and handwritten captions, beginning with her tenure at Lager Rothenburg and transitioning to her time at Muna Bamberg. Visual highlights include candid barracks life, group portraits of female labor service members (the "Sunbeams of the RAD"), and architectural studies of Nuremberg—including the Zeppelinfeld rally grounds. Intimate snapshots of a "Bamberger friend" (a dachshund) and local rural landscapes provide a rare, personal domestic perspective during the height of the war. OT
