This original World War II service album provides a high-quality visual chronicle of the German Army (Heer) occupation in France. The 9" x 12" hardbound album features a tan textured cover accented by a brown spine and a mounted silver-toned Wehrmacht-style eagle insignia. Inside, the 20-page collection contains 142 original silver-gelatin photographs with detailed handwritten German captions. Notable historical content includes a captured and disabled French Char B1 heavy tank, views of the military cemetery at Perrières, and tactical scenes from Doullens and Étaples. The album further documents the coastal occupation with images of the Le Touquet beach and resort areas, alongside views of Schloss Herrweiler. This well-preserved primary source documents the transition from active combat to stationary occupation life, capturing both the destruction of the French campaign and the daily routines of the occupying forces.
