This mid-1930s Art Deco designed photo album provides a candid look at German leisure and organized state athletics. The 9" x 12.5" album features a unique abstract-patterned cover with geometric "Art Deco" motifs, secured by its original cord binding. Across 25 pages, the collection holds 134 original silver-gelatin photographs documenting extensive boat and train travel, including a specific excursion to Stuttgart. The photographic narrative focuses on the intersection of daily life and state ideology, featuring scenic European landscapes, architectural studies, and young men participating in Nazi-sponsored sporting events and track-and-field competitions. A key highlight of this lot is the inclusion of four original period postcards depicting Adolf Hitler and other high-ranking officials.
