German civil-service visor cap dating circa 1920–1935, constructed of dark navy-blue wool with a black velvet center band and red piping around the crown and both edges of the band. Fitted with a black lacquered visor and silver-tone national cockade with red center. The original service insignia and chinstrap or cord are absent. The interior has a salmon-colored fabric lining with a faded silver maker or quality stamp and a tan leather sweatband. No confirmed maker, size, or specific service affiliation is visible. The configuration is consistent with German fire-service or railway headwear of the Weimar to early Third Reich period. Good overall antique condition with light surface wear, dust, wear to the piping, and scratches to the visor. The sweatband is dry and brittle with cracking, fraying, tears, and partial separation.
