A set of approximately 24 pieces of hand-painted ceramic tea and coffee wares, decorated in the traditional Garofano (Carnation) pattern characteristic of Faenza, Italy. The collection includes a tall lidded coffee pot with a gadrooned body and S-scroll handle, a bulbous lidded teapot, a lidded sugar bowl with twin scroll handles, several cups of varying sizes, and a stack of matching saucers. Each piece is executed in tin-glazed earthenware with a light ground, featuring vibrant floral and foliate sprays in a palette of green, terracotta-orange, yellow, and blue. The rims, handles, and lid finials are finished with a dark green line-trim. The bases bear a hand-painted monogram in blue, resembling stylized script. Width of service as displayed: approx. 56 cm (22 inches). Condition: The service exhibits glaze crazing throughout. Hairline cracks are visible to the glaze on the interior rims of the lidded vessels. There are occasional minor glaze losses and small chips to the green-trimmed rims of some cups and saucers.
