This traditional storage chest, produced by Huppé et Frères Ltée of Victoriaville, Quebec, is crafted from stained hardwood with a dark mahogany-toned finish. The front of the chest is designed with seven faux drawer panels to simulate the appearance of a chest of drawers, featuring three small upper panels over two central long panels flanked by four smaller side panels. The hinged lid opens to a large storage compartment lined entirely with solid aromatic cedar. The exterior is accented with brass-toned hardware, including swan neck bail handles and circular knobs. The chest is supported by a bracket-style plinth base. A branded manufacturer's mark and a bilingual lock instruction label are present on the interior of the lid. Condition: The chest is in good vintage condition. The top surface exhibits several visible scratches, scuffs, and abrasions to the finish. Minor edge wear and localized scuffing are present along the base and corners. The interior cedar lining is clean and well-preserved. The central locking mechanism is intact, though the key is not present.
