This lot is a large 1847 Rogers Bros silverware service in its original wood storage chest with a blue cloth lining. Please note this is silver plated flatware, not sterling silver. The box lid is marked 1847 Rogers Bros Americas Finest Silverplate. The set is an ornate floral pattern and includes dinner knives with stainless steel blades marked Stainless, along with forks, salad forks, soup spoons, teaspoons, and several serving pieces. At least one spoon shows an engraved monogram as pictured. The flatware presents very good with bright polished surfaces and typical light use, and the wood chest shows honest wear. 1847 Rogers Bros was a leading American silverplate maker, and complete boxed services like this commonly sell in the fifty to one hundred twenty five dollar range depending on pattern and piece count.
