This lot is a group of vintage washboards in a mix of brass, glass, and wood scrubbing surfaces. Several still show their old advertising and maker names in the photos, including Barnett Grocery Co. and Barnett's Brass boards, a Columbus Washboard Co. of Columbus Ohio glass board sized for silks hosiery and handkerchiefs, and a Cupples Company of St. Louis Missouri glass board marked The Board Does The Work. There is also a small white painted wood board, with about six boards in all. Condition is honest antique wear throughout, with aged and soiled wood, spotting, some green oxidation on the brass ribs, and light rust on the metal, and one smaller board is separated from its frame as shown. Boards like these are popular for laundry room and farmhouse decor, and single advertising or glass examples commonly sell in the fifteen to forty dollar range each.
