This 16-inch Arranbee Nancy character doll is a remarkable example of 1930s American craftsmanship. The doll features an exceptionally smooth composition body with very minimal crazing for its era, as well as vibrant original facial paint, rosy cheeks, and functional sleep eyes. Her molded blonde curls frame her face beautifully. Authenticity is confirmed by the crisp "NANCY" maker’s mark stamped on the back of her neck. She is dressed in a tiered sheer white dress with a blue satin sash, matching wide-brim bonnet, white knit socks, and her rare original gold oilcloth side-snap shoes. The lot includes a under dress and both dresses have lost their buttons.
