Authentic antique 24-inch German bisque socket head child doll, imported and distributed by George Borgfeldt & Co. of New York and produced between 1900 and 1925. Features a bisque head with finely painted features including feathered eyebrows, shaded lips, and realistic eyelashes, likely manufactured by Armand Marseille or Simon & Halbig. The doll has blue glass sleep eyes and a fully jointed composition body made of wood or wood pulp and glue. Right arm is restored and restrung; body exhibits expected paint and composition wear, with owner's inscriptions on the back torso. Dressed in a Victorian-style burgundy velvet and lace-trimmed dress and bonnet, though the outfit may not be original. Height: 24 inches. Condition as shown, with possible restorations. **Shipping Notice: Due to the delicate nature of the doll's sleep eye mechanism, any shipped doll will arrive with the wig and skull cap removed, and the eyes secured to help minimize the risk of damage during transit. Please expect this if you require shipping. Because of the additional time and care required to prepare the doll for safe shipment, an additional handling fee may apply. These dolls are exceptionally fragile, and while we take the greatest care in packing and securing every item, shipping always carries an inherent risk. By requesting shipping, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of damage that may occur during transit.
