This is a vintage Ideal Shirley Temple composition doll from the 1930s, measuring 18 inches tall. The doll is marked "Shirley Temple" and "Ideal" on the back of its head and torso. It features the sleepy eyes, open mouth with teeth and signature mohair ringlet wig, which has been replaced during restoration. The doll is dressed in a highly accurate, hand-made replica of the "Stand Up and Cheer" red polka dot dress by Catherine Kauffman, and includes matching socks and red shoes (notably missing the original toe bows). The doll has also been restored with original model replacement eyes, restringing of limbs, and cleaning/touch-up of the body. Condition shows some visible cracks and wear typical of composition dolls from this era, especially at joints and neck area. **SHIPPING NOT RECOMMENDED Shipping is not recommended for this doll due to the extremely delicate sleep eye mechanism. The internal eye assembly cannot be properly secured for safe transit without compromising the structural integrity of the doll. While we take great care in packaging every item, we cannot ensure the safe arrival of this doll through standard shipping methods. Bidders who require shipping are strongly encouraged to reconsider purchasing this item. If a buyer chooses to have the doll shipped despite this recommendation, they do so entirely at their own risk. The seller and auction company assume no responsibility or liability for any damage that may occur during transit or upon arrival at its destination.
