A 1984 cast stone bust by Austin Productions, Inc., modeled in the Neoclassical style. The sculpture depicts a classical youth, often identified in the manufacturer catalog as Head of Athlete, with idealized features and thick, curly hair held by a circlet. The bust is designed with a slight downward gaze and sits upon an integral flared pedestal base. The material is a sandy-buff colored cast stone or durastone with a textured surface showing small air bubbles and pits inherent to the casting process. The lower rear portion of the sculpture features the incised mark AUSTIN PROD INC © 1984.Height: 16 3/4 inches.The sculpture is in good condition overall. There are no visible cracks, chips, or restorations. Minor surface pitting and air bubbles are present from the time of manufacture. Light surface dust is visible.
