Nice faience earthenware ewer with an ivory and clouded gold lizard / Chinese dragon handle wrapping around the green spout. Has a tapestry texture to the body with hand painted pink blossoms and blackberries with gold highlights. Has an impressed FAM monogram mark on the bottom. This mark was used by Franz Anton Mehlem, Royal Bonn between 1870 and 1920. Also marked FAM 1755 Bonn in red. This mark was used between 1875 and 1890. Has wear to the gilding and two chips to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 5 5/8 inches wide x 12 3/8 inches tall.
