Antique Japanese porcelain handled ovoid serving bowl with relief molded scrollwork edge. Hand painted with a white ivory enamel flower in the center, framed by a deep maroon burgundy oval and more white enamel. This is framed by a larger green oval band and darker cream ivory enamel beads. The overall background of the inside of the dish is a custard color with overall cream ivory enamel beading. With round pink panels framed in gilding and enamel beading. Inside each panel are pink petunia flowers. With green and gold gilding to the relief molded scrollwork along the edge. The outside of the bowl has hand painted pink and purple flowers. Unmarked, but made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain. Circa 1891 to 1921. Has wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 10 1/2 inches long x 8 1/8 inches wide x 2 7/8 inches tall.
