7 Year old Gelding - 14.3 HH - Showing in hand Elroy is truly the kindest, gentlest soul. He’s ready for a new home.. even though I wish I could keep him forever :) Elroy is a 7 year old, 14.3 hand gelding from the Conant Creek, WY HMA. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and has so much try. He is very soft on the halter, has great ground manners and does all the things a broke horse should do.. leads, loads, will stand tied for hours, lunges, great with his feet, easy to deworm, respectful of fences, hobbles, highlines… all the things. He has been hauled a ton and typically settles in new places quickly. He has been to numerous trailheads, arenas, and even an outdoor obstacle course. He’s most at home in the mountains. He is still green, but has a great mind! Elroy has been ponied and packed tons of miles on the trail. He navigates bridges, water, and blowdowns well. He’s ready to go pack your elk out this winter! Elroy has been ridden a handful of times walk/trot, but I wouldn’t consider him. He has a very smooth trot and willing demeanor, but deserves and educated rider to continue his training.
