Charlie Brown

3 Yr old - 14HH - In hand Charlie Brown is a 3 year old gelding from Muskrat Basin, Wyoming. Before I even picked him out at the corrals, he was already approaching people and touching our hands with his nose. He is very curious and brave. He has a playful personality. For example, he enjoys drinking water straight from the hose and carrying objects in his mouth that he finds on the ground, like a glove or training stick. He doesn't run off if he's spooked; he will either hide behind his handler or take a few steps back while he licks and thinks. Charlie loves the trailer and will load and back out better than some of my rideable horses. I have never seen a horse that actually enjoys spray bottles, but Charlie does. You can walk up to him in a pasture and fully spray him, and then halter him without him running off. Farm equipment and loud trains go by his pen every day, and he is not phased. He's docile and fits in well when put in pasture with other horses. Other animals, like my working dog, have never scared him. He leads well and trots in-hand, picks up all four feet, hard ties without pulling back, takes a bridle, lowers his head, can pivot on his front & back, lunges outside of a roundpen, lunges over jumps, and completes other basic exercises. I haven't trained Charlie for very long with a saddle, but he has worn it extremely well! I got Charlie in April, and there have been a few weeks where I've had to go out of town. Because I didn't get to work with him as much as I had planned, I suggest that he goes to a home that will continue his training or take him to a trainer to finish his training and work with him more under saddle.
