15 Month Old Mare - 13.3 HH (as of July 4) Not every great horse is easy from day one—and that’s exactly what makes the good ones worth the journey. Gigi has challenged me, taught me patience, and rewarded consistency every step of the way. She’s had her share of speed bumps, but she’s come out the other side with a solid foundation and a bright future. I am confident she is ready to step into the show pen and even more excited for the person who gets to continue her story. Gigi - South Steens HMA (Oregon) – Born at the Burns Corrals on April 1, 2025 - Color: Palomino (LP) - Height (7/4/26): 13.3 hands - Located in Roundup, Montana Gigi is incredibly intelligent. Show her something a few times, and she puts the pieces together quickly. She wants to please, enjoys having a job, and genuinely looks to her handler for direction. She is also an honest young mustang. She’ll test you occasionally—not in a dangerous way, but enough to see if you’re consistent and fair. Because of that, she is not someone’s first mustang. She will thrive with a confident, patient handler who appreciates a smart horse with opinions. She doesn’t kick or bite, is pleasant to handle, and is excellent about having her feet picked up. She’s thoughtful rather than reactive. New things don’t usually scare her—they simply deserve a few seconds of careful consideration before she decides they’re acceptable. At just 15 months old, she’s still very much a baby mentally, but she’s surprisingly mature for her age. She has long, athletic legs and naturally enjoys hopping over obstacles. I think she has exceptional potential in Working Equitation, obstacle challenges, versatility ranch classes, trail, or other performance disciplines where her athleticism and problem-solving ability can shine. She’s had daily access to obstacles and entertains herself exploring them… or occasionally rearranging them to suit her decorating preferences. Gigi currently: - Catches and halters easily - Leads respectfully - Loads and unloads well - Walks through gates and narrow walkways - Picks up all four feet - Stands for grooming - Bathes (she’ll participate… it’s just not on her list of favorite hobbies) - Navigates obstacles confidently - Lunges at the walk, trot, and lope in both directions, free or on a line - Travels well - Has been desensitized to ranch life including tractors, augers, construction equipment, semis, trucks, trailers, ATVs, dogs, and everyday ranch activity - Is respectful around well-mannered dogs - Gets along well with mares and donkeys - Absolutely loves attention Location: Roundup, Montana She can also be picked up following the Mustang Challenge in Nampa, Idaho, or I can arrange delivery anywhere along my route back to Roundup, MT.
