A small Victorian food or butter mold with a detailed designs of a sheaf of wheat. The thick stoneware mold was for creating interesting patterns in jellies or butter. The ceramic is glazed in a thick off-white glaze that is smooth and shiny. MEASUREMENTS 4 ¼" (10.8 cm) long x 3 1/8" (7.9 cm) wide x 1 5/8" (4.1 cm) tall. Weighs 5.5 oz (145 g) CONDITION The mold has some hairlines at one end that don't go all the way through to the outside. There is a small chip on the inside of the foot. The mold also has heat stains and slight wear from use. It also has a few black spots from manufacture. The little mold would look great en masse with other Victorian molds all showing their patterns. It's a great look in the kitchen or dining room.
