vintage anthropomorphic apple face cookie jar, originally manufactured in Japan during the 1950s. This distinctively styled mid-century piece features a barrel-shaped red apple body molded with a charming, stylized face. It is detailed with simple black-and-white painted eyes, a sculpted nose, and a wide, friendly smile. The base of the jar features a brown faux-wood textured rim, while the removable lid depicts the top portion of the fruit and is crowned by a vibrant green leaf cluster that serves as the handle knob. Turning the jar over typically reveals an underglaze "Japan" or "Made in Japan" stamp embedded on the raw bottom rim.
