Tip of Ear and Neck repaired. Vintage anthropomorphic donkey-in-a-hat cookie jar, manufactured by the American Bisque Company during the 1950s. This highly collectible mid-century piece features a whimsical brown donkey or mule character with long, expressive ears peering playfully out from inside an upside-down yellow top hat. The hat brim forms the flat base of the lid, while the donkey's head acts as the main finial handle. The front of the yellow hat cylinder is embossed with the word "COOKIES" in a stylized, multi-colored retro font flanked by small molded flowers.
