Small chip in inside rim. Abingdon Pottery "Choo-Choo Train" cookie jar (Mold No. 651), manufactured in Abingdon, Illinois, during the 1940s. This piece of collectible art pottery is sculpted in the shape of a classic steam engine locomotive. It features a cream-colored body detailed with embossed windows, dark teal-green wheels and accent bars, and red hand-painted trim decorating the window frame, rivets, and central bell dome. The flat, dark-green cab roof acts as the removable lid to access the interior storage compartment. Turning the jar over typically reveals an incised rectangular manufacturer stamp that reads "Abingdon / U.S.A." alongside the mold number 651.
