Anthropomorphic Elephant cookie jar Am. Bisque

Updated October 23, 2026

vintage anthropomorphic elephant cookie jar, manufactured by the American Bisque Company (often marked as USA) during the 1950s. This highly collectible mid-century piece features a standing cream-colored elephant with its trunk raised up over its forehead. The character is styled with a hand-painted orange or coral-red scarf tied around its neck, matching inner-ear detailing, and dark black eyelashes and accents. The head of the elephant serves as the removable lid, splitting right along the scarf line.
