Title: Surrealist Composition with Abstract Figures and Geometric Symbols Technique: Oil on canvas Measures: 28 x 20 inches Year: Undated Condition: Appears in good overall condition, with vibrant coloration, strong graphic definition, and clearly articulated abstract elements. The painted surface displays subtle variations in pigment density, softly blended background colors, and sharply defined linear forms. Minor surface irregularities, light handling marks, and age-related imperfections may be present. Presented in a wide reddish-brown wooden frame with a smooth finish and minor signs of surface wear. The reverse displays an aged canvas support with scattered discoloration, darker staining along the upper edge, and visible handling marks. The canvas is secured to a wooden stretcher with corner supports and visible fastening elements. Not examined out of the frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: The piece entered a private collection in 2015 as a gift. It has been in private display since that date. Visual Description: A vibrant Surrealist-inspired abstract composition presents an intricate arrangement of biomorphic figures, geometric symbols, and delicate linear elements against a luminous background of golden yellow, orange, and green. The composition is animated by a series of stylized eye-like forms, crescent shapes, elongated black gestures, and floating geometric elements rendered in red, green, white, blue, and black. Along the left side, a vertical arrangement of abstracted facial features emerges through thin, curving black lines and brightly colored circular motifs. The central area is dominated by overlapping organic shapes, including a prominent green eye-like form, a white circular element with red and black accents, and a diffuse passage of deep green pigment that creates a sense of atmospheric depth. Toward the upper right, angular black forms, small circular markings, and a radiating star-like symbol establish a playful dialogue between geometric structure and spontaneous gesture. The lower portion incorporates additional elongated shapes, suspended dots, curved lines, and contrasting black-and-red elements, creating rhythmic movement across the pictorial surface. The warm background transitions from saturated orange on the left to luminous yellow and textured green on the right, reinforcing the composition's energetic visual character. The lower left bears a painted inscription reading “Miró,” accompanied by small star-like symbols. The interplay of biomorphic abstraction, symbolic imagery, primary colors, and delicate linear gestures evokes the visual language of twentieth-century Surrealism and modernist abstraction.
