An antique or vintage utilitarian metal canister, likely constructed from a ferrous metal such as iron or steel. The vessel features a cylindrical main body that transitions to a conical shoulder and a short, narrow neck. It is fitted with a removable flat lid topped with a small wooden knob. Two opposing strap metal handles are soldered to the shoulder, and a cast metal tap is positioned at the base for dispensing liquids. The construction displays visible solder joints at the seams, handles, neck, and tap, suggesting a hand-assembled manufacture. A green adhesive lot label marked with the numeral 183 is present on the lid. The vessel's design is consistent with period liquid dispensers, such as those used for fuel storage or resembling the form of a moonshine still pot. Dimensions (approx. measured against tape, inches only shown): H 52.7 cm x Diameter 31.8 cm. Condition: The item exhibits extensive all-over surface oxidation and heavy rust, consistent with age and utility. There are minor scratches and small dents throughout the body. The wooden lid knob shows signs of wear and weathering. Both the handles and the tap remain securely attached to the canister.
