An antique utilitarian wash boiler or log tub of oval form, constructed from sheet copper. The body features horizontal corrugated ribbing for structural reinforcement and a rolled top rim. The interior is finished with a tinned lining. It is fitted with twin side handles consisting of iron brackets secured with rivets and turned wooden grips. Height approx. 33 cm Width at rim approx. 57 cm (Measured against a tape measure graduated in inches). Condition: The exterior displays a deep aged copper patina with minor surface scratches and localised verdigris, particularly around the handle mounts and seams. The interior tinned lining shows significant wear, discolouration, and oxidation consistent with utilitarian use, with areas of white surface staining and rust spotting around the iron rivets. The iron handle brackets show heavy surface rust, and the turned wooden grips are weathered and dry but remain structurally intact.
