This lot comprises a collection of English dinnerware from two separate manufacturers. The first group consists of a partial service of semi-porcelain pieces by Johnson Brothers. These items feature scalloped, molded rims with a textured basketweave-style border and transfer-printed garlands of pink roses and small blue flowers. Traces of gilt remain on the outer edges. The bases bear a green transfer-printed backstamp featuring a crown and the text JOHNSON BROS / ENGLAND / PATD OCT 21ST 1902. The second group is an assortment of Imperial Porcelain earthenware by Wedgwood & Co. Ltd. featuring an Art Deco-inspired pattern. This service includes multiple plates and a circular covered serving tureen with integrated handles. The decoration consists of alternating black and gold geometric motifs and clusters of pink roses connected by a fine gold-tone line. These pieces bear a green backstamp featuring IMPERIAL PORCELAIN arched above a crown with WEDGWOOD & CO LTD / ENGLAND below. Wedgwood & Co. Ltd. is a distinct manufacturer from Josiah Wedgwood & Sons. Dimensions (approximate, measured against a ruler): Tureen width 12 in, Platter width 17.5 in, Salad plate diameter 7.5 in, Dinner plate diameter 10 in. Condition: The items show signs of age and significant use. The Johnson Brothers pieces exhibit wear to the gilt rims. The Wedgwood & Co. pieces display pronounced crazing throughout the glaze. The interior of the covered tureen shows heavy brown staining and cracks in the glaze. There is noticeable wear and loss to the gilt decoration on the rims across the collection.
