A trio of Windsor style chairs of varying forms and finishes. The first chair is a hoop-back side chair featuring a bentwood hoop with six turned spindles and two supporting back stays. It is fitted with a shaped saddle seat showing a prominent grain pattern, likely elm, and stands on ring-turned legs joined by an H-stretcher. The second chair is a smoker's bow armchair, also known as a captain's chair, with a wide curved crest rail above turned spindles and a continuous arm rail. This chair features a contoured saddle seat and is finished in a dark mahogany tone on ring-turned legs with an H-stretcher. The third chair is a side chair with a shaped comb-back crest rail, two turned outer spindles, and four plain central spindles, finished in a uniform buff-coloured paint over turned legs and a simplified H-stretcher. Dimensions: Hoop-back chair H 90 cm x D 40 cm; Smoker's bow armchair arm H 70 cm. Condition: The collection shows wear consistent with age and domestic use. The hoop-back chair is in generally good condition with expected minor surface scratches and a developed patina. The smoker's bow armchair exhibits significant wear and finish loss to the upper arm rail and seat surface, with surface dust present throughout. The painted chair shows general scuffing, marks, and small areas of paint loss to the finish.
