Stitched Sammelband 1802-1847. This extraordinary, highly important collection features approximately 25 early-to-mid 19th-century New England almanacs (1802–1847) compiled and bound together in a traditional domestic, hand-stitched twine compilation volume (sammelband). Heavily weighted toward scarce Federal-era regional imprints, standout highlights include early Isaiah Thomas imprints (1802 & 1803), the inaugural 1805 first issue of The New Hampshire and Vermont Almanack by Nahum Mower, a patriotic War of 1812 eagle woodcut edition (1814), the famous 1816 "Year Without a Summer" issue, and a complete 1840 edition featuring an intact interior woodcut map of New England showing early canal routes and stagecoach roads. Various printers and publishers including Isaiah Thomas, Robert B. Thomas, Nahum Mower, and Jenks & Palmer, 1802–1847, letterpress on rag paper, intact custom folk-stitched binding, standard octavo volume dimensions measuring approximately 4.5 x 7.5 x 2.5 inches overall. Condition across the individual issues ranges from Poor to Fair, displaying heavy age-toning, foxing, rag paper edge fraying, page curling, short tears, and surface soil consistent with early domestic reference use; the folk-stitched twine binding remains intact and structurally bound as a single volume. See photos for close-up details.
