Olympia Silver Plate Souvenir Spoon. Issued between 1898 and 1899, this authentic 5.5-inch Spanish-American War commemorative souvenir spoon is crafted from silver-plated base metal by the National Silver Plate Co. to celebrate Admiral George Dewey and the Battle of Manila Bay. Highly desirable to both military historians and flatware collectors, the piece features an ornate handle with a crisp high-relief portrait bust of Dewey above scrollwork inscribed "ADMIRAL DEWEY / MANILA / MAY 1st 1898" (with an American flag on the reverse), an embossed bowl depicting his flagship inscribed "U.S. BATTLESHIP OLYMPIA," and a reverse upper stem stamped "NAT'L SILVER PLATE CO." Presenting in good antique condition without major bends or structural defects, the spoon retains clear, well-defined relief detailing alongside a rich, authentic surface patina, displaying expected age-appropriate wear such as light overall rubbing, micro-scratching, and minor silver plate loss on the high points.
