Coats Portrait 1/6 Plate. This original 19th-century Victorian tintype (ferrotype) photograph captures a compelling duo portrait of two young men clad in striped work shirts or chore coats, offering a great visual document of late-Victorian working-class fashion. Dating to circa 1880s–1890s, tintypes highlighting everyday workwear and candid attire hold strong appeal for early photography enthusiasts, fashion historians, and Americana collectors. Unbranded/maker unknown, c. 1880s–1890s, wet-collodion process on lacquered iron plate, unmarked, measures approximately Sixth Plate size (2.5 x 3.5 inches). Shows visible signs of age including vertical emulsion scratches, flaking/paint loss near the center between the figures, scattered dark spotting, clipped corners, and edge wear around the perimeter, though both subjects remain clearly identifiable; no major plate bends observed. See photos for close-up details.
